That lady at the bakery who told me my cake was wrong

I was at a baking swap in Austin last spring, and this older woman walks up to my lemon drizzle and says, "Honey, that's not how you do it." She then spent 10 minutes explaining how her grandmother's recipe uses buttermilk instead of lemon juice, and I just stood there with my spatula feeling like a kid caught stealing cookies. I tried her method the next day, and you know what, it came out way fluffier. I've been making lemon cakes that way ever since. Has anyone else had a total stranger just walk up and change your baking routine like that?

Cake lady definitely sounds like she saves kittens from trees.

I'd still trust her with my fence key any day.
