That's a solid point about stripping the factory seasoning. Makes you wonder how many things we buy are just covered in a layer of stuff we don't really need. It's like that with a lot of cheap tools and furniture too, you gotta peel back the cheap paint or glue to see if the actual thing is any good. My dad always said the real value in something is what's underneath the first coat.

Strip the factory seasoning right off and do your own. Those cheap skillets come with a coating that'll flake into your food. Two rounds of crisco in a 400 degree oven and you'll have a BEAST of a pan for under 3 bucks. Also check the handle for any cracks before you buy, those are the real dealbreakers.
