Grabbed a $3 hand mixer from a garage sale and it's probably 40 years old
I was digging through a box of kitchen stuff at a sale over on Maple Street last Saturday and found this old hand mixer with the original cord still twisted up. It was $3 and I figured why not, my modern one died two months ago. Got it home and it actually works better than the plastic thing I had before. The motor sounds like a lawnmower but it whipped cream in like 30 seconds flat. Has anyone else found vintage appliances that just refuse to die?

Oh man, those old mixers are built like tanks. I've got a 1970s blender from my grandma that still chugs along fine. The motor is loud but it blends ice like nobody's business. You just can't kill that old metal housing and simple wiring.

Bet those old motors are actually overengineered for 15 amp circuits.
