Question about a $4 brass frame vs a $6 wood one at the Goodwill on 5th
I found two old picture frames at the Goodwill on 5th last Saturday, a plain brass one for $4 and a chunky wood one for $6, and I only had enough cash for one. I went with the brass one and it turned out the glass was cut wrong, so now the photo sits loose in there. Did I pick the wrong one, or is it worth going back for the wood frame tomorrow?
That loose glass thing happens more than people think. I grabbed a $5 frame at the Salvation Army on 8th last month and the glass was about a quarter inch too small, so every time I picked it up the photo slid down behind the mat. I ended up cutting a piece of cardboard to shim it and it still looks janky. For six bucks that wood frame sounds like the safer bet, at least wood can be sanded or glued if something is off, brass you can't really fix once the corners bend. I'd go back tomorrow before someone else grabs it.
