Hit 200 cooks on my offset last Saturday and it snuck up on me
I marked my 200th cook on the same offset smoker last Saturday in my backyard in Macon, and I only knew because I keep a log of every brisket and rib run. My first 50 cooks took almost 2 years while the last 50 took 5 months. For the pitmasters who track cooks, do you count practice runs or only the ones that go out to paying folks?
The way I do it is anything that hits the grates counts, even if it's just a couple racks of ribs for the family on a Tuesday. Cooks are cooks, and the fire doesn't care who's eating. I do keep a separate tally for paying jobs though, just to see my numbers on the business side. 200 is a big mark, congrats on getting there.
