Hit 1,000 bottom bracket replacements and it hit me back
I kept a tally in a beat-up notebook for 6 years, and last Tuesday I crossed 1,000 bottom bracket swaps at my shop in Des Moines. Most were the same old square taper units, but number 1,000 was a seized cartridge from a 1998 Trek that fought me for 45 minutes. I had to soak it in PB Blaster, use a longer breaker bar, and finally a slide hammer to pop it loose. The funny part is I felt more tired than proud, like my arms knew the count before my brain did. Anyone else keep weird mileage markers like this, or do I need a better hobby?
