Question about wheel truing rush jobs

I was truing a wheel today and had a lightbulb moment. We always speed through it to keep up with shop flow. But then the same bikes come back with wobbles in a week. Isn't it frustrating to do the job twice? I saw one I rushed last month, and it was already out of true. Taking just five extra minutes makes them last so much longer. Why do we let the clock push us into sloppy work?

Yeah, those five extra minutes you mentioned are totally worth it.

But what if the skill is in knowing exactly when to stop? Some tasks just have a point of diminishing returns, and hitting it is its own kind of expertise.

Actually, skill beats clock-watching every time.
