Is it just me or does "something that simple" change meaning depending on who you're talking to? I've had this exact situation with my dad where a simple printer setup took 45 minutes because he wanted to use a network cable instead of wifi. On the other hand, my neighbor would call that same thing a five minute job because she just plugs everything in and lets Windows figure it out. So the wasted time often comes from overthinking or not trusting the process, not the actual steps themselves. Your mileage may vary but sometimes the "simple" thing is only simple once you've done it three times before.
