Using old inner tubes to secure loose cables

I found a neat way to keep brake and gear cables tidy on a frame. When you have extra cable length, it can flap around and get caught. I cut sections from worn out inner tubes into strips. These strips are stretchy and grip well. You wrap them around the cables and frame to hold everything in place. It's better than zip ties since you can reuse them. I've been doing this for months and it holds up in all weather. It also saves money since you're recycling old parts.

Cables flapping isn't exactly an emergency though.

Taped my loose cables down with duct tape. Stopped the flapping right away. Hasn't been a problem since.

Cables flapping reminds me of a tent rope that slapped my face all night.
