Coworker swore by a $15 poncho for rain rides, I laughed until a downpour hit me at mile 6 on I-90

She said the key is wearing it over your backpack so the straps stay dry, and after three soaked shirts in Seattle last spring I tried it, now I only carry it for storm days, but has anyone else found the hood flaps useless above 15 mph?
