Finally figured out why my legs were dead before noon
For 2 years I kept wondering why my 8 mile commute left me wiped by lunchtime even though I'm decently fit. Turns out I was running my tires at 80 PSI like a road racer when I should've been at 50 for my hybrid. Anybody else have a dumb bike setup that you stuck with way too long?

Honestly that's a solid find, 80 PSI on a hybrid would feel like riding a jackhammer on pavement. I had a similar issue when I first got my gravel bike, I kept the stock tires pumped up to 70 because I thought harder meant faster, but it just made every bump jarring. Took me way too long to drop it to 45 and suddenly the bike felt like it had suspension built in.

80 PSI is actually fine if you're running the right tires. @lindareed I hear you but hard tires have their place. I ran 80 on my old Trek hybrid for years, never had an issue. You just need a stiffer sidewall and a saddle that doesn't beat you up. Saved my legs on long pavement rides, no squish wasting power.
