Three days on a valve stem? Honestly, that sounds like user error to me. People always say those things are tricky but they're really not. If you have the right tool and know how to use it, it's a ten minute job. Maybe the problem wasn't the part itself but how you were trying to fix it. I've seen this happen a lot where a simple task gets overcomplicated. Why make it harder than it needs to be?

Did you try using soapy water to find the leak? That's the only way I can ever spot those tiny valve stem cracks lol
