The truck driver who yelled at me on the 5th Street bridge changed my whole route

He rolled down his window at the red light and said 'you're gonna get yourself killed riding that close to the curb where the drain grates are' and after I checked the line of grates for 2 blocks I realized he was right, so now I take the lane all the way up to the bike light at 3rd, has anyone else gotten road advice from someone who was actively annoyed at them?

Ha, well @victor_carter51 sounds like he was due for a good rant anyway. Honestly, one yelled warning on a bridge seems pretty mild. People act like taking the lane is some life or death decision, most of us just do it because it's less annoying.

That 5th Street bridge is sketchy as hell. I got yelled at by a bus driver once for hugging the right lane on Broadway and honestly he was right too, the door zone there is brutal. Now I take the full lane and flip off anyone who honks. Sound advice comes from the grumpiest people sometimes.
