Worst rain commute ever finally made me get fenders

Last Tuesday I got soaked through my jacket on the 4 mile ride to work and spent the whole day squishing around in wet shoes. A coworker loaned me his old clip-on fenders and honestly I didn't realize how much they keep water off your feet until that day. Has anyone else put off buying fenders for way too long?

Started riding with fenders last season and wish I did it sooner. Keeps all the road grit off my back and out of my eyes. Mud and rain don't bother me nearly as much now.
