Honestly wonder if we're overthinking this whole thing. Animals get spooked by wind or falling branches all the time, it's just part of being outside. Sure, don't be a jerk and chase something with your camera, but a person quietly taking a picture from far away isn't the end of the world. The guilt seems a bit much for just trying to capture a neat thing you saw.
