I download episodes on my tablet during off-peak hours. It uses LESS energy and I never deal with buffering!

My mobile plan gives me 50GB of hotspot data a month, so I download everything at the library on their wifi. Saves my home internet data for actual work and cuts my streaming power use by like 80%. The bonus is my tablet never buffers in the middle of a show, which used to drive me crazy. It’s a simple setup but it honestly fixed two problems at once.

Honestly can't see myself doing the library wifi run regularly. That's extra trips when I'm already juggling weird hours after night shifts, and my laptop bag feels heavy enough without adding a tablet just for downloads. Sometimes the simplest solution is paying for better home internet so everything just works when I crash on the couch.

I always used home wifi for downloads and dealt with the buffering. Your library method actually makes me want to try something similar, since it solves the lag issue so simply.
