Hot take: the farrier at the Knoxville show said my tongs were "polite" and I can't stop laughing
I was at the county demo day in Knoxville last Saturday and a farrier picked up my flat tongs, turned them over twice, and just said "these are polite." Took me a minute to get it, but he meant my jaws were too smooth and too long, so the stock slides instead of getting bit. Spent Sunday at the grinder and filed a sharper shoulder and a shorter bit on them. Any of you got a rule of thumb for jaw length versus stock size, or is it just feel?
