My forge blower setup got a lot simpler after a demo in Denver

I used to run a fancy variable speed blower with all these adapters and dampers to control air. Then I watched a guy at a demo just use a cheap hair dryer jammed into a pipe, and honestly his fire was more consistent than mine. I swapped mine out last fall, saved about $80, and I get better heat control now. Anyone else drop the fancy gear for something basic like this?

Buddy did the same with a shop vac and a tin can, swore by it.
