Corrected a seller on a vintage game's price, felt right

I found a rare board game at a yard sale for ten dollars. The owner had no clue it was sought after by collectors. I debated just buying it and keeping quiet. But I told them its true market value instead. We settled on a fair price and I left feeling good about it.

My willpower in that situation would be exactly zero. I'd be that guy nervously buying the ten-dollar rare record while mentally writing the "I'm a terrible person" blog post in my head. Good on you for having a conscience that actually functions in the wild.

My willpower crumbles at anything under twenty bucks too.

I set a hard rule for myself to walk away from any record priced under fifteen bucks if I already own a decent copy. It forces you to actually think about whether you need it or just want the quick thrill of a cheap find. I've left some cool stuff in the bins because of that, but my shelf space and wallet are happier for it. The blog post guilt is real, but making a simple rule ahead of time cuts that feeling off at the pass.
