Old boilermaker in Gary told me to stop using a wire wheel on tube sheets
Two years back I was on a shutdown in Gary, Indiana and an old timer named Walt watched me wire wheel a tube sheet for about 20 minutes before he walked over and told me to quit. He grabbed a scotch brite pad and some solvent and showed me how the wire wheel was leaving grit in the holes that would cause leaks on startup. What do you all use to clean tube sheets without messing up the seat?
