OSHA says 12% of boiler injuries happen during the first year on the job. That number feels off to me.
Been going through the OSHA archives for a safety talk I have to give next month. Saw that stat about first year workers and boiler injuries. Honestly, that seems low to me. Tbh, I did some stupid stuff in my first 12 months. Dropped a socket wrench down a steam drum and almost took out a guy's foot. My shop in Gary always pairs rookies with someone who has 10 plus years, but I see crews online where green guys are left solo on water tests. Do you all think the number is flat wrong or does the training actually work in most places?
