Wasted $220 on a cheap gouging torch, buy a decent one first

I picked up a no-name gouging torch off an online auction thinking I was being smart. First job in Gary, Indiana, it clogged on me three times before lunch. The air valve seized up and I had to beat it off the hose with a wrench. Lost half a day on a 12 hour job waiting on a replacement from a local shop. That $220 loss taught me a lesson about buying used welding gear. Anyone else get burned by bargain torches or rigs from auction sites?
