Got through our July book pick arguments without anyone storming off

Our club spent 45 minutes fighting over whether the narrator was unreliable or just poorly written, and I finally got everyone to agree on three specific passages to debate instead. It was at Lisa's place last Tuesday and the trick was writing page numbers on sticky notes before the meeting started. Anyone else have a system for keeping debates on track when the group gets heated?
