Hit 50 books read for the year and it completely shifted how I pick my next read

I set a goal of 50 books back in January and crossed it last weekend with a mystery novel from the library. The weird part is I used to grab whatever was trending on social media but after hitting that number I started judging books by their first 30 pages instead. I kept a little notebook tally and noticed my mood dropped when I forced myself to finish a slow starter. Now I put down anything that doesn't hook me by page 10 without guilt. Has anyone else had a milestone change their whole approach to what they actually finish?

Page 10 seems like a pretty quick hook though.
