Talked with my grandma about why she never finished high school

She told me her parents pulled her out at 14 to work the family diner, and I realized how much of her life was decided by other people's choices. Kinda hit different when you think about all the chances we just take for granted now.

Is it really that deep though? Sounds like she was helping her family get by, which was pretty normal back then.
