The audiobook vs physical book debate in my club got heated fast

Last month we read a 500 page thriller. Half of us did the audiobook, half read the paperback. The audiobook crew kept missing character names and plot details. They kept asking questions about things that were clearly in the text. We ended up re-explaining three major twists because they just zoned out while driving. Has anyone else had your club split badly on format preference?

Roll your eyes and move on. You're acting like the audiobook people committed a crime instead of just having a different way to read. Some people zone out with physical books too, they just hide it better by flipping pages without actually reading. The real issue is your club sounds like it needs better discussions if someone missing a twist ruins the whole thing. Maybe pick books that aren't so dependent on remembering every tiny detail. Or just split into two groups and save yourselves the drama. It's not that deep.

Honestly yeah people get way too worked up about this stuff. It's just reading a book at the end of the day who cares how someone does it.
