Chose a $90 standing press over a $40 nipping press for my first real binding

After 6 months of fighting with clamps and boards on a thick book block, I went with the standing press and the spines finally came out square on the first try, so now I'm wondering if anyone here still uses a nipping press for small jobs or if it's just gathering dust.
