Appreciation post for the neighbor who saved my lemon tree
Got home from work Tuesday and found half my Meyer lemon tree snapped clean off. Some storm rolled through while I was out and took out the main branch that had 8 green lemons on it. I was ready to just chop the whole thing down and start over. But my neighbor from three doors down came over with some grafting tape and tree wound sealant. She spent 45 minutes showing me how to splice the broken branch back on and brace it with a stick. Told me she saved her peach tree the same way two years ago after a windstorm. It looks like a mess right now but she said give it 6 weeks and it might actually take. Has anyone else had luck saving a tree that snapped like this or am I just kidding myself?

Oh wow, that's actually wild! I've heard of people doing this but never seen it work in person. Props to your neighbor for stepping up.
