Hot take: my fiddle leaf fig put out 4 new leaves in one week and I think it was the rain water
Two weeks ago I started collecting rain water in a bucket on my balcony in Portland and using it on my indoor plants instead of tap. My fiddle leaf fig, which had been sitting there doing nothing since March, pushed out 4 new leaves in 6 days. I also noticed my pothos by the window stopped getting those brown tips on the older leaves. I did not change the light, the pot, or the soil, so I am pretty sure the water is the only difference. For people who collect rain water, do you filter it first or just pour it straight in? I am worried about whatever is on my roof shingles getting into the soil.
