Tried grafting a fig branch onto a mulberry tree out of curiosity
I did it last spring just to see if it would take, and it actually grew a weird hybrid-looking branch that produced tiny figs. Learned that fig and mulberry are both in the Moraceae family so they can cross, but the fruit was pretty bland. Has anyone else gotten a surprise graft to work on a weird plant matchup?

Come on, bland fruit is basically a success since you got a graft to take at all. Grafting weird combos like that is a total waste of time when you could just grow a real fig tree.
