Hit 500 feet of brick in one day yesterday for the first time

Been laying brick for about 3 years now, mostly small jobs. Last week on a warehouse wall in Akron, I finally broke 500 feet between 7am and 4pm. My foreman just nodded and said 'not bad' but I was buzzing the whole ride home. Anybody else remember their first big number day?

That "not bad" from your foreman is pretty much the highest praise you get in this trade, so I'd take it. My first big number day was 480 feet on a retaining wall, and I remember my back screaming at me for two days after. There's something about hitting that milestone that makes all the blisters and sore knees feel worth it though.

Wait, 480 feet in one day? On a retaining wall? That's insane. I don't know how your body even functioned after that. My first big number was 300 feet of concrete edging and I thought I was going to die, my knees were shot for a solid week. You must have been moving like a machine, or just completely ignoring every pain signal your body was sending. Did you even feel your hands the next morning or were they just numb claws?
