Noticed guys mixing mortar wrong on 3 job sites this month
I keep seeing brickies adding too much water to their mortar til it's basically soup. Watched a crew in Austin lay 200 bricks with mortar so wet it sagged out of every joint. My old foreman used to say if you can't make a ball that holds its shape, it's too wet. Has anyone else noticed this getting worse or is it just the jobs I'm on?

Yeah @king.ruby's right, at that point you're basically building mud pies instead of a wall. I watched a guy the other day try to lay brick with mortar that looked like pancake batter and was shocked when everything slid sideways. Some folks just really want to fight gravity I guess.
