One Tuesday I laid 1,100 bricks and then the homeowner's goat ate my lunch
Last Tuesday I was working on a small garden wall out in Boise and everything clicked from the first course. The mortar was perfect, the corners were dead plumb, and by 2pm I had 1,100 bricks down without a single wobble in the line. The homeowner had a pet goat in the backyard and I figured he was harmless, so I left my cooler open while I went to mix another batch. Came back ten minutes later and the goat had my sandwich, my chips, and half a bag of jerky. I stood there laughing because honestly the day was going so well it felt like the universe owed me one bad thing. Has anyone else had a job where everything went right except one dumb moment like that?
