Thought rice and beans was boring until my power got shut off for 3 days
Two weeks ago the electric company cut us off over a $180 bill and all I had in the pantry was a 5 lb bag of pinto beans and a sack of white rice. By day two I was simmering beans with a leftover onion and a spoon of bacon grease from a jar in the fridge, and honestly it ate better than the frozen lasagna I usually buy. Anyone got a cheap way to make that combo not taste the same by day four?
