TIL my bulk rice buy went bad faster because of how I stored it

I bought a big bag of rice to save money, but kept it in the original paper bag. The bag got damp in my pantry and weevils got in, so I lost the whole thing. What's the right way to store dry goods so they last?

Ugh, that's the worst. Watching a whole big bag of food go bad feels so defeating, especially when you were trying to be smart with your money. I learned the hard way too, with some flour that got lumpy in its bag. Now I put everything like that into clean plastic bins or big jars with tight lids. It keeps the moisture and bugs out so much better.
