My cheap flight to Berlin got me stranded in Frankfurt for a night
I booked a $90 flight from London to Berlin last fall, but it got canceled due to a storm. The airline offered a hotel voucher, but the hotel was full. I ended up sleeping on a bench in the Frankfurt airport terminal with my backpack as a pillow. The next morning, I used the airport's free shower and caught the first train out. Has anyone else had a budget flight go sideways and found a decent way to handle an overnight airport stay?

The airport chapel in Singapore has surprisingly comfortable pews for a quiet, undisturbed rest.

How long did you actually manage to sleep there? Always wondered if the airport announcements bleed into that space or if it's truly silent.

Ugh, that sounds so rough. I read a whole travel blog once about "airport sleeping guides" that rate terminals for noise and comfort. They said the pre-security areas are often quieter because there are no flight calls, and you should always look for carpeted spots near closed gates. That free shower move was genius, total lifesaver for feeling human again.
