Rant: blew $140 on airport food in Lisbon before I got the credit card math
Sat down at a cafe in the Lisbon airport last month and dropped 18 euros on a sad sandwich and a water because I was starving and hadn't packed anything. Then I looked at my statement and saw my travel card doesn't cover airport vendors anyway, so I got zero points on top of paying double. A guy in line behind me pulled out a bag of nuts and a refilled bottle and I just stared at my receipt feeling like a moron. Now I'm wondering how many other trips I've been doing this on without noticing. What's your go to airport meal that doesn't cost a full day of your food budget?
Read somewhere that TSA lets you bring an empty water bottle and solid snacks through security, which blew my mind since I always bought the $6 bottled water past the checkpoint. Now I just pack a pb and j and a banana and save the airport splurge for an actual good meal somewhere else.
