Rented a car through Turo for a week in Phoenix versus using a traditional rental agency

The Turo car was $180 cheaper for the week but when I got a flat tire on the highway, the owner took 4 hours to answer my call. Has anyone else had better luck with one over the other for longer trips?

the owner took 4 hours to answer my call" - yeah that sucks but you saved $180. For that price difference you could buy a whole new tire and still come out ahead. Traditional rental places will charge you out the nose for a flat too, plus their hour long wait times and hidden fees.

I saw an article that said some of those discount tire places actually buy factory rejects or close to expired stock to keep prices that low. @gonzalez.rowan, the savings are real but Im always a little worried about what Im actually rolling on.
