Bought a $12 spreadsheet template and it finally clicked for me

Last Tuesday I was doomscrolling through another budgeting app and just got tired of it. My sister had been telling me for months to try a simple spreadsheet, so I grabbed a $12 template off Etsy from a creator in Ohio. It had this one column for 'planned spend' next to 'actual spend' and that visual difference hit me harder than any app alert ever did. I sat down with my coffee and entered three months of grocery receipts, and I found I was blowing $40 a week on snacks alone. Anyone else find that just seeing the numbers side by side changes how you buy stuff?
