Dropped $180 on a chest freezer in Madison and it cut my grocery bill by $75 a month
I bought a 7 cubic foot chest freezer off Facebook Marketplace for $180 back in March, right when grocery prices in Madison were climbing again. I started buying meat in bulk from a farm co-op and freezing leftovers I used to throw out, and my food spending went from around $420 a month to about $345. The math works out that it paid for itself in under 3 months. Did your freezer end up saving you money or did it just fill up with stuff you never ate?
