Found a stat that 80% of bullet journalers give up within 3 months - here's why that bugs me so much
I was scrolling through some productivity blogs last week and stumbled on a survey that said 80% of people who start a bullet journal quit before hitting the 3 month mark. That number shocked me because I've been at it for over a year now and I honestly can't imagine stopping. Part of me thinks those people are just using the wrong setup or getting too fancy with washi tape and art spreads instead of keeping it simple like the original Ryder Carroll method. But then the other part of me wonders if maybe the system itself has some real flaws that make it hard to stick with. Like the daily rapid logging can feel repetitive after a while and the migration process is a pain when you have a busy week. Or maybe people just get bored because they don't know how to adjust it to their real life needs. I'm curious what you all think - did you almost quit in those first few months and what made you keep going?

Honestly, that 80% stat makes me wonder if people are overthinking it from the start. Tbh I almost quit around month two because I kept trying to make those fancy monthly cover pages everyone posts online, and it stressed me out more than it helped. Ngl once I just started using a plain pen and stuck to writing whatever I needed that day, it finally clicked. Now I barely decorate anything and it actually works better for me.

Ngl the pressure of making it look good ruins the whole point for a lot of people. Tbh just getting a cheap notebook and writing messily in it for a week is the real test to see if it sticks. Honestly if you can't stand looking at your own ugly handwriting, you're not gonna keep up with it anyway.
