My bullet journal was a mess until I started using a single pen color per week

I was overwhelmed trying to make each page perfect, so last month I tried using just a black pen for everything and it cut my setup time in half. Has anyone else simplified their tools to focus more on the actual planning?

I need to talk about something that happened to me last month. I posted a photo of my mood tracker setup, and a few days later, I saw the same layout on another account with no mention of me. My bujo chore chart finally got my roommate to clean the bathroom

Vent: My gel pen exploded on my mood tracker

I was almost done coloring in my mood tracker for the month when my pen leaked everywhere. The ink went through the paper and messed up my next weekly spread too. My street's road work is totally messing up my bullet journal routine

I always do my daily log first thing in the morning with my coffee. Now, the digging and beeping start so early it breaks my focus. My monthly goals page is half empty since I keep rushing (which never happens normally). I tried to move my journaling to the back porch, but the dust is getting everywhere. It feels like my whole planning system is falling apart because of this local noise. Even my simple task lists are getting skipped or written wrong. I just want my quiet corner back so I can actually use my bujo the right way.
