Used to hate the monthly log setup, then a comment about 'memory triggers' changed my mind
I always thought monthly logs were a waste of space. Just another page to fill out. Then I saw someone say they use them to jot down one thing per day they want to remember, not tasks. A quick line like 'saw a red fox on the walk' or 'tried that Thai spot on Elm.' I tried it for 3 weeks and now I actually look forward to flipping back through months. Anyone else use their monthly log for memories instead of planning?

I started doing something similar but with weather notes. Each day I put down a quick observation about the sky or temperature. Stuff like 'first frost on the car windshield' or 'hummingbird at the feeder in the rain.' It sounds silly but now I can look back and see the seasons change through small moments. My January page is just gray and cold, but March has all these little bursts of green and warmth. It gives the monthly log a feeling of time passing rather than things to do.
