Finally broke 500 pounds of trim in a single shift and my wrist is screaming
Honestly I've been at this shop for two years and never hit that mark before, but yesterday our main grinder went down and I had to hand trim everything for a big wholesale order. Has anyone else noticed their hands cramp up way worse when you're rushing through a huge batch like that?

Oh geez, I gotta disagree a bit here. I mean, yeah, rushing through a huge batch definitely makes your hands cramp, but I think it's more about your technique than the speed. Idk, maybe it's just me but I've found that when I'm going fast I tend to grip the scissors way too tight and that's what kills my wrists, not the volume itself. If you slow down just a little and focus on using your whole arm instead of just your fingers, it honestly helps a ton. I've done 600+ pounds on a grind day and my wrist only hurt because I was tensing up, not because of the sheer amount. But hey, congrats on hitting that mark, that's solid work regardless.

That part about gripping the scissors too tight really hit home for me. I've noticed that same pattern shows up everywhere, not just with cutting. Like when I'm typing fast I clench my jaw without realizing it, or when I'm driving in heavy traffic I death grip the steering wheel. It's almost like when we focus on speed we forget to stay loose. So I get what you mean about it being more about tension than volume, @john_johnson75. The whole "using your whole arm" thing is something I need to remember more often too, because I catch myself doing everything from my fingers and wrists. Funny how we all learn the same lessons in different ways.
