My 30 year old Hobart slicer died mid brisket last Saturday at the shop
Was slicing cooked brisket for the lunch rush last Saturday at my shop in Tulsa when the blade just stopped and started humming, smelled like burnt wiring. I unplugged it and pulled the cover, and the drive belt was shredded plus the motor was too hot to touch. Is it worth paying a repair guy $400 to fix a machine this old, or should I just put that money toward a refurbished one?
