inYoung folks at my office keep forgetting to actually introduce themselves in emails
Yeah it drives me nuts too, like how hard is it to just say who you are first?

inHad to replace a 12-foot curved glass panel in a Miami hotel lobby last month
Man that sounds brutal. I feel you on the humidity thing, it's the worst when sealant decides to act up. We had a similar mess last summer doing storefront glass in Orlando, stuff was drying in like five minutes flat. Had to keep a spray bottle of water handy just to slow it down a bit. Three guys for a curved panel sounds about right, those are a nightmare to maneuver without flexing them too much. Props for getting it done in Miami heat, that's no joke.

inThat one guy who showed me how to mud a corner in 1997
Honestly you're not wrong. I had a similar thing with a guy named Hank who taught me to hang cabinets and he swore by shims for everything even leveling out a wobbly floor. Took me years to realize I could just scribe the base and cut it clean. And yeah that 6 inch blade for a corner sounds like a mess waiting to happen. I remember trying that trick on a site in Regina and ended up with so much extra mud I had to sand half of it off.

inFinally hit 100 outlet swaps in a weekend, felt like a weird milestone
Tell me about it. I've lost more jobs to my own bad memory than to bad luck.

inThree days of cable spaghetti vs 20 minutes of velcro - which way works better?
Nah, I'm team zip ties all the way. Yeah they're annoying to cut off but once they're on they don't budge. Velcro loses its grip after a few months especially if you're moving stuff around. I've had velcro strips just fall off in the heat under my desk. Plus zip ties look cleaner when you do it right. Spend the extra time once and forget about it.
