A client told me my drawer slides were too loud - here's what I changed
I had a customer last week complain that the soft-close on a set of kitchen drawers I built was grinding. I always used those standard Blum slides (you know, the usual ones). He showed me his old IKEA cabinets that were dead quiet. Turns out I wasn't shimming the slides level before screwing them in - they were binding just a tiny bit. Now I'm using a small level on every single slide before I fasten them down. Has anyone else ran into this issue with certain drawer heights?

Happened to me but with a different twist. Had a customer complain about loud drawers and I spent two hours leveling every slide, only to find out the problem was the drawer box itself was a hair too wide. It was rubbing on the face frame just enough to make that awful scraping sound. I ended up planing a sixteenth off each side of the drawer box and it was silent after that. Made me realize sometimes you gotta look past the hardware and check the whole fit, not just the slides.
