Tried domino joinery on a poplar shelf, blew out the back edge

I finally got my hands on a used Domino last weekend and decided to test it on some poplar shelf boards. Everything looked great going in, but the depth stop slipped and it blew out the back edge on the third joint. Turns out I had the fence set too deep for the board thickness, and I didn't check the stop after the first cut. I spent an hour filling the tearout with epoxy and sawdust, which actually saved the piece. What depth settings do you guys run for 3/4 inch stock, and has anyone else had trouble with the stop drifting mid-run?

Tighten that stop with a lock washer, never had mine drift after that.
