Can we talk about how nobody in this trade wants to admit the old crimp ring tool still beats the push on connectors at 3am
Stopped by a guy's house in Council Bluffs yesterday to fix a modem that kept losing sync every 20 minutes. He had a box of push on connectors a prior tech shoved on, and 4 of the 6 were loose enough to wiggle off by hand. I re terminated all of them with my old Ideal ring tool I bought in 2014 for $28 and the signal levels locked in flat. Push ons are fast and I get why people lean on them, but on a cold outside tap with cheap RG6 they just do not hold. Anyone got a brand of push on that actually survives an Iowa winter, or are we all just going back to rings?
