Crawled under a house today and the mud was so bad I lost a boot.

Okay, losing a boot in the mud sounds rough (and messy). But how bad was it really? I feel like a boot doesn't just vanish, it probably got stuck and you had to leave it. Sounds like you might have given up on it a little too easy, to be honest. I'm having a hard time buying that it was a total loss.

Seriously? You weren't there, @emery_sanchez. That mud was like thick glue, and my foot came out with a horrible sucking sound. The boot just kept going down, man. I dug around with a stick for twenty minutes and couldn't even feel the top of it. You ever tried to find something in swampy mud that just swallows stuff? Why would I just leave a perfectly good boot behind for fun?
